Our final standard list contains par scores for Wine. But, before we present the list, it’s important to point out that this isn’t a wine tasting event. Nor is it an outing for wine connoisseurs. We don’t care what type of wine you drink. Red, white, rose, Merlot, Sauvignon blanc, whatever, nobody cares. Its all wine to us.

Most wines have an ABV within the region of 12% – 14%. We score our wine on glass size. Glasses are usually served as small, standard and large which is 125ml, 175ml and 250ml respectively. We set our pars on those measurements for both wines and wine spritzers.

175ml Glass of Wine 9% and above 2

Par Five Drinks

Par fives are generally considered the difficult rounds on a pub golf outing. Thus, they usually require more alcohol to complete. You can do this two ways. You can choose a pint with a high ABV% or you can select two drinks for the round. For example, a pint within the range of 4% – 6% ABV and a double shot of Vodka. Or if you so wish, you could make it three drinks. The choice is yours.

Here is a list of pub golf drinks that you could use for your par five rounds.

The Par Five Beverages
Pint of Lager/Beer/Ale/Cider (8%+ ABV)
Pint of Lager/Beer/Ale/Cider (4% – 6% ABV) + Double Shot
Pint of Lager/Beer/Ale/Cider (4% – 6% ABV) + Single Shot + Single Shot
Pint of Lager/Beer/Ale/Cider (4% – 6% ABV) + 175ml Glass of Wine
Bottle of Lager/Beer/Ale/Cider (6%+ ABV) + 125ml Glass of Wine + Single Shot

Bunker Hazard Drinks

Our last consideration is bunker hazards. In pub golf, you can designate a hole a bunker hazard. When in a bunker hazard, players are required to drink an extra shot to exit the bunker. A single shot of anything is generally chosen for bunker hazards but you could of course choose a small glass of wine. In short any of the above listed drinks that are considered a par 1 drink.

Of course, the beauty of pub golf is that you decide the difficulty of the course. With that in mind, you could make players drink a double to exit the bunker. Or if you wanted to be evil, you could make a par five hole a bunker forcing your players to drink a par five drink plus an extra shot. Ouch! The choice is yours.

And that’s all we’ve got. Have fun, play hard and play safe.
